Night Owl's Revenge

It’s been two weeks since my last post, and in that time I’ve made significant progress in leaving my old working life behind (I’ll post the details later). Moving sucks no matter how organized or prepared you are, and it’s even worse if you are like me and are neither organized nor prepared. Cleaning out my place has only confirmed that I’m getting dangerously close to becoming Liz Lemon, and that I’m extremely talented in acquiring junk that I don’t need!

Not surprisingly, all of the apartments within walking distance to campus have been rented. The picture below tells you all you need to know about Chicago winters and why it’s so nice to live as close as possible to school. I was starting to think that I might have to bring a sleeping bag and crash on a couch in the Jacobs Center, but I managed to find an apartment that’s relatively close to campus AND it’s on a bus line. I’ve never been so happy to sign a lease!

I’ve spent the rest of my time KWESTing through California, and I’ll post photos and details about my trip soon after I move. I wasn’t able to participate in the amazing Kellogg Worldwide Experiences and Service Trips (KWEST) program this year due to time and money constraints, so I put together my own mini-trip to say goodbye to friends I’ve met during my 6 years on the West Coast. I hope to participate in KWEST next year as a student leader.
