Night Owl's Revenge

Why is this blog titled Night Owl’s Revenge? Because I love to write, and my best ideas often come when I should be going to sleep. Sometimes they wake me up in the middle of the night. Luckily I sleep with keep my iphone by my bed, and I can reach over and record my thoughts on the notes app. If you don’t commit ideas to (hypothetical) paper when they strike they’re gone by the next morning. I’ve learned that the hard way.

I hope to use this blog as a record of my journey through the application process. It’s a long road to business school, and I enjoyed reading blogs like “Ellipsing My Way…” and “Just Ship” among others. Exposing myself and my struggles online is scary, but a good friend of mine encouraged me to try. I think I have 2 or 3 good things to say. The rest will probably be rubbish. I apologize in advance. 

So you’ll read about my GMAT woes, researching schools, and the writing process. I follow amazing tumblrs on creative writing, and while the advice is geared towards novelists and screenwriters, I think several themes can be applied to b-school essay writing. From time to time I’ll re-post the helpful tips/hints/quotes from those blogs.
